HeliPLUG contains collagen derived from bovine Achilles deep flexor tendon. The organic material contributes to the absorbable quality of the wound dressing, making this sponge plugs soft, pliable, and nonfriable.HeliPLUG acts as a hemostatic agent to help control bleeding, facilitate blood clotting, and protect the wound site for accelerated healing. In 10 to 14 days following placement, the body reabsorbs HeliPLUG wound dressing to provide a matrix for tissue in-growth.Each sterile dressing is individually packed.
