Complete reverse osmosis system with pre-treatment from TARGET store in Woodland, CA. Designed for 1,200 GPD, it's been running smoothly since its initial startup. The reverse osmosis process employs a high-pressure pump that applies extreme pressure to the highly concentrated saline solution side of a semi-permeable membrane, countering a natural process called 'Osmosis'. Naturally, osmosis transports salt through a semi-permeable membrane from a low concentration solution to a high concentration one. Its goal is to achieve equal concentrations of saline solution on both sides of the membrane. Using high-pressure, reverse osmosis reverses this process. The pump applies high pressure to the highly concentrated saline solution side of the membrane, pushing saltwater and other impurities through the membrane, allowing only water molecules to pass. Salt and impurities are rejected and subsequently drained on the concentrate side. Ultimately, you get purified water with 99% less dissolved salts on the permeate side of the membrane.
